FTM! How to deal with mother in law wanting to be in the room while giving birth,?? .... I dont even…

girl just tell her!!! your the one pushing out the baby and it's going to be a lot. If they offended oh well. With my daughter everyone was in the room my mom my dad my MIL and sister in law. This one is just be and my hubby. My mom got mad when I told her but she got over it lol. it's about you momma you need to be comfortable giving birth.

just be honest. it's your baby, your birth. if she throws a fit a tries to be there anyway the nurses aren't afraid to tell her to leave. I told mine and she took it fairly well.

your welcome. I know how you feel and one thing I learned with being a mom so far is its your child you do things the way you want. People will get upset but it's YOUR child. :) @princesscamilasmommy

don't be afraid dear. put your foot down and remember it's your child so it's your choice. nobody elses

I didn't even want my own mom in the room! She refused 2 listen and came in and planted her feet in the room no matter if I told the nurses I didn't want her in there.

They only allowed 2 people so, my MIL pretty much had 2 understand that she was not 1st choice. She ended up being fine w it, I thought she'd be devastated. She was the 1st visitor in the room after having baby though.

I didn't even mention it to the MIL. Hubby (day of birth) told her and said only 2 people were allowed in and out and he couldn't get out my mother if he wanted too lol

I was soooo effing uncomortable w my mom there....she didn't raise me, my grandmother did...so, it made it harder! If I could do it again I'd prob. tell security 2 keep my mother out instead of just the nurses- they really disnt care what i wanted. I'd tell my mother and explain y. Then tell my MIL its my 1st baby so, I want it to be a special moment between the hubby and i. if mil didn't understand, too bad.

I don't want my mother in law in delivery room either , but I don't want to hurt her feelings so I will be telling the nurses to break the news to her that she has to leave the room , that only my mom and husband can stay so she won't feel like it was me, lol I'm cool with her but I don't want her their , I would feel really uncomfortable.
