My daughter is 12 days old and will only sleep on her stomach.... I'm a FTM and I know that they say babies are suppose to sleep on their backs to prevent sids, etc. but when I put her on her back she immediately wakes up!! Anybody else have a stomach sleeping baby?
My 2 older kids had the same problem. At 1st my grandmother took a light stretchy musilim like cover i had, folded it thin longwise and put it over my daughters belly tucking the ends under baby's sides. She quit jumping out of her sleep and quit crying. Next day my grandmother came 2 visit again w her she brought a soft velour glove filled with rice-not too heavy. she stitched the back of it up. She layed it on babies tummy while she slept and i had no problems after that. She made another for my 2nd born and he loved it too- they were both content after that. Not sure if it'll help u 2 but figure I share.
Yea... it's always changing that's why it's so confusing and makes me just want to do what's comfortable for my baby @meganeileen6
yeah im the youngest of 4 girls & my mom said out of the 4 of us she was told to have 1 of us sleep on our bellies, 1 on our side & 2 on our backs. they change it so often
lol. well I'm gonna check with my doctor at our checkup tomorrow to be sure @meganeileen6 I figured that it's ok... I'll be 28 years old this year and all I've known is for babies to sleep on their stomachs... that's how I slept when I was a baby but all these new rules and statistics scare the hell outta you when it comes to raising your baby @hhmariah
My daughter only likes sleeping on her tummy and she's perfectly fine :)
it's okay to let her sleep on her tummy, just no blankets! make sure her head is turned to the side and just keep checking on her.
I would say just make sure her head is to the side and there are no blankets, stuffed animals, etc near her head. Check with the dr, but as long as you check on her regularly, should be fine
