how long did it take for you mommies to get used to breast feeding in front of other people? and the first time you did it did you have a lot of people in the room because the first time I do it I'd like it to be just me and my so and if anyone's in the room I will ask them to leave even though I know my family will be offended by it

for me there was nothing to get used to. there are ways to breastfeed without showing anything. don't care about what they think... you are doing what you feel is best for your child and what is natural.

i feel the same way, i'm all for breastfeeding openly but until me and my baby get the hang of it i will be doing it covered and not infront of anyone but my so. just to avoid awkwardness, ya'know figure it out a bit, and enjoy the bonding.

It wasn't difficult for me. If there are more people present than just my family I'll excuse myself to another room, however if they enter a room where I'm feeding I continue feeding.

Honestly I didn't nurse without something at least shielding me; whether it was just my shirt or my husband, in public but if I was at home or someone else's house I nursed in front of whoever. I started at my in laws right after she was born and then around others when she was about 3 months old and I knew she had latching down really well.
