I need some opinions. My baby is due around May 15th and my oldest daughter will be turning 2 on…

I think you should still do something for her even if it's small. I hate the thought of people wanting to have my baby around too but honestly, don't neglect your oldest for that reason. Try something just with the four of you. And maybe also something with just her and her father.

That's honestly not such a bad idea. I wouldn't say selfish you are just not ready and it would be a lot to take in. You should do what you have in mind Im sure she'll understand.@jaycee17

my daughter was born in December and my sons first birthday was in january i didnt do nothing big invited a few family members over for pizza cake and ice cream because didnt want to take the baby out and get sick .

As long as you celebrate her in some kind of way I don't think you're being selfish. She's only turning two so it's not like she's gonna remember it anyways.

@t142, I'm not gonna neglect her, I just don't think it's a good idea for his health to throw a big birthday party like we did for her first birthday. But you're right, I can still do something small. That's why I'm just thinking dinner and something on the weekend.

I think doing something small wouldn't be a bad idea at all. That way she isn't left out, but you're still doing something for her. I think it'd be worse to have a birthday party and then everyone be all over your newborn, then that kind of defeats the purpose of having a birthday for your oldest, when all eyes are on the new baby.

@kathy218, She's only gonna be 2 so she won't know the difference anyways lol. But there's this little theme park in Anaheim called adventure city that I was reading about. Maybe we can just take her there on the weekend.

Omg lol so funny you seem to be such a good mom if ur so worried of making her feel a certain way when shes barely 2.Im sure she'll be happy with anything you do for her. As long as ur with her and celebrate her. & the theme park isn't a bad Idea. Id go with it.

You're right. Because I wouldn't want that for my baby either. Just the thought of it angers me so I understand. Something small is good.

I would do something small with your immediate family and mayyybe the grandparents! Like dinner at your house or something! I'm sure family would pitch in to help if you asked - also don't feel bad pushing it back a few weeks to give you more time to feel ready ☺️

@lfloris77, Yeah that's what we were thinking. My mom and I are probably just gonna plan a small dinner party and then maybe a bbq or something on the weekend for both families. :)

I am on baby #3. My sons 6th birthday is July 16 and I am due July 17th I don't know what I will do yet.
