@candacelouise, you're not supposed to. it's causes your uterus to press on a major artery and reduces blood flow to the placenta and your lower extremities
Yeah you can read all that stuff online, I've done it my entire pregnancy and I'm extremely healthy. All my OB says is to make sure that I turn over after a few minutes.
Yeah my doctor hasn't said anything not to.. He says I will get light headed or start to not feel good if it's hurting baby it'll hurt me too. @arijane316
During my ultrasound at my doctors office I was laid down flat for about 30 minutes and oh man was I dizzy when I got up. But when I lay in bed on my back I don't get that way. Maybe because I have pillows? or if I do lay on my back I try and prop one side slightly up higher with a pillow under my back.

I sleep tilted like on my back but more to one side then the other and my baby sleeps good

you can try propping yourself up when you lay on your back I do that sometimes
