Does anyone have any advice on getting your baby to sleep in their crib? Mine always cries shortly after I lay him down & only wants to sleep on my chest
Oh yeah my son is the same way. I actually hold him until he falls asleep then lay down with him next to me right up against my chest and put my arm slightly under him and rock him (if he wakes and starts to wine I just try to comfort him by patting his back, feeding him, ect. I do not pick him back up once down it was hard but it's the only way) after he falls back asleep I wait a little bit then remove my arm (if he wakes up again same steps as listed above and I do not put my arm under him again) and then after a little bit I move him to his pack n play (again if he wakes up I don't pick him up just comfort him by rubbing his belly, singing, shhhing him ect.) After you master this take away the step of you laying down with him and go straight to pack n play, after mastering that start to put him in his pack n play closer and closer to when he falls asleep in your arms until you're able to put him in there when he's still just barely awake. It's a long process but it should help. Babies need cuddles and comfort of course but also learning to self sooth is important. (with you still touching them of course so they know you are still there).
My aunt trained her son to sleep in his crib by laying him in there. Letting him cry for about 5 mins then she goes back in there lays him down again tells him she loves him and he's fine then leaves the room. Took about a week until he got use to it.
Hm do you have a bassist? It may be too early for the crib... I've heard that a bassist would be easier because its smaller and feels more closed in like the womb
