I was wondering if you mamas had any opinions on birth controls. I plan on breastfeeding so it has to work with that. I have heard a lot of bad stories about the longer term birth controls ( IUD, Mirana, and nexplanon,) can mess with your fertilization and IF I choose to have babies later in life I don't want to be trying for 10 years before succeeding and then knowing the birth control I chose effected it. I have also looked into NuvaRing (I had it before and if its inserted correctly it was fine but after about three months it wasn't inserted properly and was super uncomfortable and hurt) I'm TERRIFIED of needles so the depo shot isn't an option. Would it be crazy if I asked to get on the pill? I would have an alarm set everyday to take it and be responsible enough to even throw it in the diaper bag if I know I'm not going to be home around the time I have to take it, and plus I think with a newborn being around it would be plenty reminder that yes babies are a blessing but I don't want any until my daughter is at least old enough to go to school. What do you mamas think??

@hermommy, I would do the patch but I know if you smoke its not effective and I'm not saying I do plan on smoking but I don't want to take the risk of wanting to smoke a cigarette here and there then it not work.

I've never heard that😮 my mom smoked and it didn't affect anything 5 years no baby

nexplanon was horrible and I don't recommend it. I'm looking at using iud

I had the nexplanon , bled off and on for the first two months . I didn't bled for two and half years . Had it removed and was pregnant two months later .

I'm going to take the pill. I have a blood condition and can't do anything with estrogen so it has to be the mini pill. It's not as effective but I debated on no birth control since it took so long to have this baby

dont go back on nuva ring! i was on it for a long while and well... im 5 months pregnant lol i mean it failed me but it may work for you!! granted i couldnt be more excited about my baby boy but it wouldve been cool to decide on my own terms lol

@brittneylove, any birth control I get on even if it is the IUD or anything were still going to use condoms as well. The ring was effective on me but when it got uncomfortable is when I decided no on it idk this is a lot to think about

Yep... Same @brittneylove lol I was on NuvaRing when I got pregnant. I looked online afterwards and realized it's actually almost common to conceive while on it
