With my first daughter I never felt contractions, had an emergency c section... So where will I feel contractions? In my abdomen like period cramps??? I have the WORST sharp pain in my back right now that shoots down my leg at times and it's so bad I can't walk. I have light pain in my abdomen but nothing serious.. But, what E will contractions and Braxton hicks feel like???

Is there always pain involved with contractions or can you just feel them and there be no pain? @emily18234 sorry to butt in.

trust me you will know lol. I had them mostly in my back. everything squeezes and the pain increases, hits the high, then decreases. it's like a roller coaster. you'll be able to go "here one comes" then you won't be able to talk from the pain, then it will gradually subside. like Braxton hicks, but the pain increases and peaks at the high of the contraction.

I picked up something super heavy earlier and pretty sure that's what is causing my back pain. I've had back problems forever but it's the worse today it's never been sharp like this and run down my leg. Probably is sciatic like you said , @emily18234 but it made me realize I don't know what contractions feel like and wanted to ask. But is it in the abdominal area generally? I've heard Braxton hicks cause your stomach to harden, which I've felt. I guess I'm worried I won't know when it's something serious lol

what your feeling is sciatic nerve pain. contractions aren't easy to explain, but there is no mistaking them. you won't have to ask and you'll be able to feel them come on, tighten and go down and be able to tome them
So I went to the ER 2 days ago for fluids. Now today I have this terrible pain like surrounding my abdomen. From my ribs down the sides to the bottom of my pelvis. My mom is worried it's contractions. Is this what they feel like? Idk!

So I keep feeling these lil sharp pains on my right side. You do get pains like that before you start your period right.? Remember I had that dark brown spotting for a few hours last month on the 22. My period suppose to start today.
Hi I am into my 15 week now But since last two days am not having good feeling....I just feel something is wrong inside wid d kid...all my symptoms r too less Morning sickness is gone....Metallic taste of my tounge is also less....and I feel pain in my abdoman twice or thrice which is very minor though What should i do i am very confused Already have gone through 5 scans because of changing gynec Just feel that untill i hear the heartbeat or see my kid i wont b ok....got sleepless nights
Having some pretty intense constant lower back pain and maybe super light contractions. But can't tell because the back pain is way over powering contractions so I'm walking around my room to see if they get worse.

@taestasia, it is pain. early labor, it depends on your pain tolerance, but once REAL labor happens, it will be constant pain. with my son, I had to be rushed to the hospital from the birth center and the car ride was so painful I slammed my head up against the side of the car to try and get my mind off it lol
