you dont. some people just do. every baby reacts to soaps diferently.

no you dont. ive washed my kids clothes in regular washing soaps since born. those are just the parents who only use baby stuff on the baby.

@mrsgeorge, me and my SO both have sensitive skin so I think he just told me that cause he's been super cautious when it comes to her even though she's not here yet

I switched to all free and clear. I am going to use that when the baby comes also. This way I don't have to buy a separate soap for the baby and save money. The baby stuff can get expensive.

I didn't with both babies. I figured why treat their clothes any different when I'm going to be holding them with my clothes on and with the scent of detergent I use. I just switched from the powder pods to liquid and that's about it.

ALL free and clear makes my skin itch. I actually use baby detergent for myself because I have a whole bottle and no babies now and its the only thing that hasn't made me break out since I was pregnant. My skin got extremely sensitive after I gave birth

It's important to at least wash their clothes because the factories spray them with stuff to keep them fresh looking, but you at least already washed them so that's better than nothing.

@lilanne1927, I know right! my grandma insists on dreft tho and since we wash at her house and she offered to pay for it for at least the first year I'm letting her have at it. but she says I can't use fabric softener either and I'm like guess what when I was them it's getting used anyways. I want her stuff to stay soft .-.

in my opinion tho I love tide and I was just going to start using the sensitive one at least for her stuff

@peanuts1mom, my boyfriend is allergic to tide otherwise I would get the sensitive one and just use it for all of our clothes

@peanuts1mom, @rileysmommy2016 dreft is amazing and smells like baby 😍 and I wouldn't worry about fabric softener because it actually made her clothes and blankets super soft all on its own, I was impressed!

I react badly to the normal tide & basically every other laundry detergent I've tried but the ingredients must be different w the free & gentle cos that's yet to happen 😊 dreft is good for baby stuff too though, just a little pricey...
