Warning, this will be long! Read on if you dare! 🤓
It was a cold winter night in the city of Dallas. A young couple was filled with anxiety and dread. It was the perfect scene from a movie. The roads had a fresh layer of ice on them and the snow fell silently in the night. We were amongst a handful of brave cars driving down the long highway. My heart was beating fast and at the same time not at all. I kept wondering, "is this it? Am I really losing the baby I prayed so hard for?!" We sat in silence, both lost in thought. I tried to put a brave face on but it was a failed attempt. You see, earlier that day I had begun spotting at 8 weeks pregnant and was instantly filled with fear. I hid it from my fiancé and tried to wait it out. When it failed to stop after 10 hours I decided to tell him to take me to the hospital. So there we were, going to the "best hospital in town" Baylor. As we approached the hospital I began to shake. Not from the freezing temperature but from the nerves I felt. After 4.5 long hours and many uncomfortable tests, the doctor came in with the results. They found my beautiful baby... But the heartbeat was gone. He said it normally wouldn't worry him but because I had already heard the heartbeat at 6 weeks it could only mean one thing- my perfect Canary was gone. That wonderful bliss I had been in came crashing down. My heart stopped and I couldn't breathe. Tears began to pour out of my eyes on their own accord. The doctor said I was young and had plenty of time to try again. He said sometimes these things just happen. He said it wasn't my fault. I didn't care, I was numb and falling fast into a dark place. The drive home was awful, we both tried so hard to keep it in. Such fools. I began my miscarriage the next day and I have been on the road to recovery ever since. Losing my baby was, at the time, the most painful and heartbreaking thing I had ever been thru. It didn't seem fair. I felt like God has played an awful trick on me. But I began to heal and so, on this day 2/27/16 I am telling my Canary's story a whole year later.
Thanks for reading! Sorry it was so long!! 😬

This just brought tears to my eyes. I was in this same situation. I pray daily for my rainbow and wonder sometimes if the baby I miscarried was my last. I know God has a plan for all of us and all we have to do is be patient, stay strong and move forward. I love your story.
