Could ya'll send some encouraging words my way? 😭
My parents have had my foster brother since he was 2 days old, and have been fighting to adopt him almost the whole time. They were winning. He was ours. And all of a sudden a half-aunt decided she wanted him and the state of Arizona is going to let her take him away. The transition period of 2 weeks starts today. And then he will just be gone. He's everything to me and this is not fair. He doesn't know those people. My heart breaks every day for my baby boy. 💙 and my son will never get to know his uncle. 😭💔

that has happened to my family as well. They went down to finalize it and bring him home and the mom got out of prison and expressed interest so the process was stopped just like that. All you can do is pray.

since its your brother, and your 18, can you take custody? I know the state says its best that the child stays within the family but your right, he doesn't know those people either.

@Mel seygee, he's my parents' foster son. No relation 😔 he was placed with them because his mother was in prison when she had him

@showersoverflowers, the parents already did they wanted him to stay with us. He knows us! But this aunt spent $15k on lawyers and court to fight to get him because she can't have children so he's going to be her "baby". It's so messed up.

All favor goes to blood relatives. You can fight it but it rarely ends well

It's heartbreaking and horrifying. Your parents have surely touched his life though. I'm not sure how it would work out but can your parents request contact with him past the transition point. Maybe letters and facetime?

@showersoverflowers, they have. The aunt said they will "most definitely" keep my parents as a part of his life. But they are taking him to New Jersey. We will get pictures and maybe a few Skype calls. We don't really have rights to anything 😭
