I was an ihss worker for my aunt and she got mad because the last month of my pregnancy I had drs apt once a weeks and was always late she also said I complained about being tired too much when I told her I was going on maternity leave early so she could have someone fill my spot so they can do all the tasks I couldn't. People just don't understand I hope you the best because for me it only for worse.

Hang in there mama! People really don't understand how exhausting being pregnant is. I am lucky to work for people who are sympathetic and are willing to work with me, but even then I still faced some opposition. Just stand your ground!

whatever your state is you can look them up on Google... but same rules as temporally disabled and medical laws apply to you! also bullying and harassment for a medical reason applied here . you can also have a doctor write a note for extra protection. such as working at self limitations etc. don't take their intimidation! stand firm girl. you don't have to be rude but educate yourself and explain "I understand my current medical condition is affecting some aspects or my performance of my job, however I would like to inform you ......... if you have any further questions feel free to contact me. I garentee they'll back off. also include maybe I an communicating this because the added stress......You have rights don't let them bully you!

For the last three weeks, I've taken a day off each week. Obviously it was never intentional. But I can tell my manager is getting tired of it too. But I just don't give a shit because I'm pregnant, he's a man so he'll never understand. I'm cutting my own pay, not his. You know? I can't stand when managers do shit like that. I'd kindly remind him of the laws too.

no they can't fire you for being pregnant but they can for your attendance, which is calling off or leaving early. I know when I was working at a retail store while pregnant I could only have 7 call ins, and 7 lates, so if I wanted time off I had to request it ahead of time for it not to affect my attendance. I know it sucks, working while pregnant when your sick, but if its just fatigue, take water with you and sit in between clients, or ask if you can have a longer break, especially if you really need this job. unfortunately not everyone is sympathetic toward pregnant women.

Yeah and they do not pay me hourly. So the whole "leaving early" but makes absolutely no sense. I am maxed out at 5 hours of massage a day and if they book me out and I don't have sessions later that night, then I'm going home. I live 40 minutes away from my work and I have a husband and things to do at home. @katietay34

They can't fire u for being pregnant make sure u keep all your convos saved just in case they try it

@kelseygee, I have called in only twice in the last 6 months. And only twice have I ARRIVED to work only to be asked if I want to go home for not feeling well. The leaving early thing makes no sense to me, because at our work if you have completed your day and no one has called, it's completely permissible to leave early. But see, there is no use in arguing with him about these things because he should know these.

then why are they making a big deal?! the heck?! you should call someone that's above him, because if your attendance isn't even bad then he shouldn't be saying that to you

This is what I have written out so far: "Hi Larry, I understand my current condition is affecting some of time working, and I can provide medical notice of my pregnancy symptoms and conditions from my next appointment on March 9th to help this situation. However, I am doing my best and I apologize for the late notice on today. Ally told me if I did not get better by last night, to text Paige. Seeing as how I was still throwing up late into the evening, I felt I had no choice and did not want to jeopardize the quality of the sessions for today. The laws are called FMLA but there are certain criteria to fall under. My previous place of work did not fit under the criteria so I could not use it. If yours does (I believe it's just certain amount of employees) then he cannot fire you, let you go or reduce your hours because of your pregnancy. He also must provide you your same position back at work as you left with the same pay rate once you come back from maternity leave. @littledannilove

Well ... And he may until ur better .. I am not sick but I've heard some woman get sick until they hit second trimester .. So he may need the help of ur sick 🤔
