my son is 5 and is having trouble in school... he doesn't want to work with his teacher and tells me how school is so hard.. but at home he works amazingly! he can write all his letters and I know He is so smart... I just don't know what to do. :( I'm tired of the notes and calls from school...

he has to have a teacher he is confident with and that don't make him feel like he's being pushed to hard. my son was the same way

maybe he learns better with one on one help. my little cousin is the same and the school did an evaluation on him and deemed that he learns in a small class than a normal class of 30-40 students and that having more helping feom the teacher is better

have you asked him why he isn't performing well in school it maybe something the teacher isn't doing or the way his teacher teaches I'd ask him and see if you and his teacher could pin point the problem if it's something that can be fixed so he can enjoy school and not get in trouble

I would be looking into the " Why" he refuses to work with or for his teacher! Some teachers really shouldn't be teachers...... js
