I tried to... I definitely knew I wanted a natural birth and I did just that, I thought the water birth seemed relaxing and amazing, but in the end that tub drove me crazy and I wanted out. lol. I ended up giving birth while squatting on the floor. Bottom line you can go in with a plan and in the end that plan can change... the tub seemed relaxing to me in the beginning between contractions though I must admit. You may love it, you may hate it... it all just depends on you and the circumstances in the end. Best of luck to you!
Well every pregnancy is different, obviously if you are going through something like that it gets tougher to stay tough as to no meds and all that stuff.. but if you don't have complications you should definitely go for it. I think it's the best we can do for ourselves and our babies.. and the bonding is just so much better when you don't have all those interventions and stuff. It is not a good feeling while you're going through the contractions and the pain, but when you get to see that beautiful face it is amazing. I literally pulled my own baby out! I watched the video and was like WHAT?! When did I get the balls to do that? lol. Once you hear that her head is out or you're almost done I guess the excitement just takes over the pain and you go for it. It's so rewarding knowing I was the first one to hold my baby.. and seeing her latch on to my boob right away. The bonding was just phenomenal. Best of luck to you and your baby.
the bathtub is very relaxing it helps if you have a heavy belly...I gave birth in the tub. I didn't have any meds. I think the tub would be good for back labor.
