I think it's a pride thing, honestly. I know lots of people who are like that. :/ honestly as long as your house is clean, you can't tell you're living in a trailer and it's better than being in debt because you're living in a house you can't afford. Maybe he's afraid of being judged if someone comes over??

@katarama, that's exactly what he is scared of! We KNOW his friends are going to make fun of him instead of seeing him as providing for his family...they are all really immature...I know it's not a house or the prettiest thing but it's a start!

tell him it's a stepping stone until you can get a house when you are more financially stable.... you can make it your own and keep it up and fix it up super nice.... I agree it's a pride thing with men, and if his friends are that shallow maybe he needs to rethink his circle

Trailer is definitely the way to go!!! if you can afford to buy one why wouldn't you over renting?! I know some people have to rent, we did it for 2 years but buying is a way better option. renting is just throwing your money away. We added up what we wasted in rent for 2 years and I almost had a panic attack it was unreal. good luck momma..I hope.you can convince him!!

I bought a trailer when I was 20. I loved it so much! Of course I wanted the dream house BUT nothing beat my little "tin can." I got to fix it up a bit, it was so stinking cute and cozy. My little cousin has it now.
