they do something down their to open your cervix and help you dilate. The dilating you don't know unless you or someone out their fingers down their and see how much open your are. I just had that done today I was dilated at a 4 but it's post to help start your labor separate the membrane frm the sac around the baby just felt pressure when the doc did it
