I am so amazed at how many women want to be induced early. I realize being uncomfortable is just that, but why rush something that nature is so equipped at doing. Giving baby the best chance possible is so much more important than being comfortable. I understand there are medical necessities and emergencies, but short of that labor and delivery should not be rushed, it only puts more stress on the moms body and the baby's body. If you haven't watched The Business of Being Born you really should. When Doctors start with one intervention there is almost always a snow ball effect for more interventions. The US has the highest intervention rate and with that comes the highest infant mortality and mother mortality in the world. Why screw with what mother nature has done for so much longer? As a friend of mine once said.. Viking mothers had their babies on the field, picked them up and kept fighting. This is what mother nature is for. I'm not saying everyone should do home birth or not see a Doctor, I plan on delivering in a hospital, but why chose to make it harder on the baby and mom of it isn't necessary?

I live in the country and so very far from the hospital, and with this being baby #7, my DR is going to talk to me about induction so I don't risk having my baby by myself in the middle of nowhere !

I almost lost my son due to being induced, my body WAS not ready for labor and either was my son. it was the scariest experience in my life. so I totally agree with this post 100% @wiccanmommy

@snowbaby313 I understand.. With my second I was over an hour away from my hospital... But maybe a better option would be to have a second option for someone that could make it to you instead.. You have to do what you feel is right. This is my 4th and I hemorrhaged with the first so it makes me uncomfortable to not be in a hospital, but I would love to have had the chance to do a home birth.

@wiccanmommy, I'm kind of glad you posted this it puts things in perspective for me because today I was starting to envy the fact that my friend got an induction date and I still haven't but your right why rush something like this when you could possibly have complications that could be deadly for you or your baby...thanks for posting

I agree. I have to for medical reasons, but I would prefer to stay pregnant longer 😔
