and what would bad news be? what would happen if test came back and baby had an abnormality? I think it's ridiculous they even offer that.

I denied all of my abnormalities test because my husband and I love our child regardless what he has. It's no problem if mom wants to be sure first and learn what to do when the child is born :) I just don't understand why other mothers would give up on the child because he or she has abnormal disability. Not saying you would @mnh886 I'm sure there is nothing to be afraid of :) as long you know your baby bean loves you dearly

my doctor said they do it because at 30 and above he has seen cases where the mother aborts the child

I have a sister with downs and she's the best thing that's happened to our family. she's the sweetest, most innocent person with a heart of gold that she wears on her sleeve. even to say you're getting the testing to learn what to do doesn't make sense, everyone is different it affects them differently. you just have to take it as it comes and just be patient! they said my sister would never walk, talk or live independent. well guess what, she stays home by herself from 7-5 and does everything on her own, she talks and walks and I attribute most of that to all the time and patience my parents put into her. they loved her like any other and would spank her if she was in trouble just like my brother and i.

i took one with my son,and came back high risk for downs syndrome.went for further testing,and the only problem he had was a cleft lip and palate.he was and still is the cutest human being i have ever seen.hes had all of his surgeries except 2.

i didnt take one with this pregnancy cuz all it did was stress me out.

a doctor can only guess he's not always right so i go with my own opinion
