Ok, I think I may have my baby boy's name picked but honestly it's just cause I can't find anything I love and this one keeps popping in my mind. I want something simple to say for my SO's Ethiopian family and possibly honors my dad who passed recently (John- but I don't love the name "John" or his middle name Raymond). How does Nile Evan Heyi (like hey-e) or Nile Evan Gaines sound? We haven't decided on his last name yet and Evan is the Welsh equivalent of John (I'm part Welsh) so maybe that works? Nile just sounded cool (like the river) and the Nile flows through Ethiopia so double win. Weird? Sound odd? Honest opinions please... I really need help.
@sarahdrew, Ok, good! Cause that's the most "normal" sounding name SO has and Americans would be able to pronounce. Lol
@sarahdrew, Good to know. Thank you- I'm not a fan of my last name (Gaines) and am ok with his if people don't think it's too weird or that baby's name seems odd.
Lol- @stasjafawn I haven't told anyone who knows me yet and may not for that reason. :-)
I am drawn to the first one a bit more ☺ I do like them both tho @rgaine
@rgaine thanks (: but you just have to remember it's not their child - until they're pushing them out of their vagina then they have no say (unless it's your SO)
@stasjafawn, Thanks for that- picking a name sure has been harder for me than I expected. :-/ Cute name choice!
@rgaine there's no such thing as a crappy name! my son will be named Caedmon Finn, and I've had some throwback but oh well
Thanks @stasjafawn I'm just so nervous about giving him a crappy name. Lol
@evococa, Thank you! :-)
