My baby had a checkup today and all went well. Because she was throwing up the doc said to give her pedialyte for 1 feeding. She has thrown up 3 times since the doctor and had one dirty diaper that was runny from the formula I tried. She has not waken up to drink the pedialyte in 4 hours but is not running a temperature or anything. Should I be concerned that she won't wake to eat and had been vomiting?

How much is she throwing up? Some spit up is totally normal. Are you breastfeeding or formula feeding? If you're breastfeeding, there's certain foods you'll want to avoid because they can make baby gassy/cause reflux.

@kmally, I was breastfeeding but she was acting like she wasn't getting enough so I tried to supplement last night due to the pain of nursing and she has thrown it up bad like a lot. I've been pumping to try and just give her breast milk from a bottle. the doctors know about the vomit but she was awake at the doctor. She just hasn't waken since to eat and keeps falling back asleep after she vomits and won't drink the pedialyte. I think she's done vomiting now though she hasn't in an hour but is still just sleep

Was she having enough wet and dirty diapers while you were breastfeeding?

@kmally, yes she was and she is back to her birth weight so she is growing well

Then you're producing more than enough :) if she's acting like she still wants to latch just keep feeding on demand :) she's signaling to your body to make more milk!
