I've been seeing a lot of confusion about this.
So, 40 weeks is equivalent to 10 months.
Your doctor estimates your due date by your LMP. For example: Mine is September 2, 2015. So, my due date is June 8, 2016. However, I know I got pregnant about 2 weeks or less after my LMP. I found out I was pregnant September 30, 2015. As of right now, I am 24 weeks and 5 days pregnant.
I am 6 months pregnant. However, this app counts day 7 and then goes on to the next week. Why is that? Day 7 is literally the next week and it is considered Day 1. Also, 4 weeks are in month. So, Day 1 of week 28 would be my 7 month marker.
Am I wrong here?

to me however many weeks you are divided by 4 is how many months you are...but idk haha..16 weeks 4 months 20w 5months 24w 6months...and so on..but everyone has a different way of calculating it....and these charts on the internet don't calculate it that way..I don't understand why tho lol.. 40 weeks is 40 weeks

@kaliyahsmommy, Exactly! That's how I calculate it as well. So, for me Week 24-27 is month 6. 28 weeks is the start of month 7. The charts are so unusual to me.

yeah I dont understand the logic behind the charts..and for a minute i was following the charts and I'm like wait... that doesn't make sense lol

The charts are because pregnancy is not 10 months...it's like 9.3 repeating. Pregnancy is 40 weeks but there are not 28 days( exactly 4 weeks) in a month. There are 30 or 31. Those two or three extra days adds up. So you can't say pregnancy is 10 months because it's not.

I didn't say pregnancy is 10 months. I said 40 weeks is equivalent to 10 months. That is basic math. You aren't pregnant on the first day of your last period, but that is how doctor's calculate your estimated due date. 4 weeks equals one month. So, at 4 weeks, you are one month pregnant. 8 weeks= 2. 12=3. 16=4. 20=5. 24=6. 28=7. 32=8. 36=9. 40=10.
Again, this calculation is based off of your LMP. You are not pregnant the day you begin your period, so those couple of weeks in between your period and the beginning of your next cycle would be when you conceive. So yes, it does add up correctly. Those charts you are referencing aren't correct.
