Thoughts on getting induced? I had been against it until recently, but seeing all these mamas…

Unless it's medically necessary, it's best to wait until baby decides to come.

not necessary unless the doc feels you NEED to absolutely be induced. I was a week late with my first and the doc said if he was here by Thursday he would induce me later that day on Tuesday I went into labor.

honestly unless it's actually medically necessary I think it's stupid. and selfish... but those are my opinions... sure I want to meet my daughter sooner! but why FORCE her out... She will come when she's ready... Why use chemicals and such to make her come sooner.. no thank you..

some hospitals have a strict policy on when they'll induce. I go to an army hospital where they dont induce you until after 41 weeks

Only medically necessary. Doesn't need to happen if your cervix is open, you're dilating just fine and effaced. Otherwise baby should come at their own time.

You're at a much greater risk of complications if you are induced. So it's something that should be reserved for absolute emergencies and medical problems. Think of it this way, if you opt for an unnessesary induction and it stresses the babies heart rate and you end up with a C section Your baby could go to the NICU and youd miss out on skin to skin contact at birth. Not worth it. babies come when they're ready. be patient.

The women in my family all carry to 42 weeks like clockwork, which is technically overdue, but not urgent. And the pictocin they use to induce is the same that your body produces. I guess I've just hit the "I'm so huge and tired" stage I'm tempted by something so trivial. Thanks ladies!

While it may be similar to what your body produces, it's not the same... and techinally 42 weeks isnt overdue unless you know the exact date you conceived... I hope it gets a little easier for you mama!!!!! ❤

I'm being induced for medical reasons at 39 weeks and honestly I'm praying she comes on her own before that. I don't want to be induced but I trust my dr. I have heard nothing but horror stories about being induced

I was induced with all my girls I have a clotting disorder so I can't go into labor on my own or it can be dangerous but I'm so glad for induction the last few weeks make me crazy I'm always beyond miserable
