I need to vent and this is the only place I can without all my friends and family knowing. I have a 9 year old and as most know he has severe ADHD and ODD, if you know anything about them, you know the struggles kids have. Anyway, we live in a town house complex where all my neighbor know us and my son, usually if he doing something wrong they tell him not to then talk to me so I can further deal wirh it and I let my son outside to play yesterday, I guess he went into the complex behind us and went into a car, someone from here that knows him saw this and called the cops to report it, rather then come to me, now the cop came to talk to him and has to send a report to social services, im freaking out!

@hailholla1412, thats just ot most people do because they know he doesn't mean any harm, he has never done anything like this and I have never ever had to deal with social services, well the cop said they may or may not contact me, ugh my mind is racing

try not to worry but I'd have a good talk with him so it doesn't happen again. I know it's so very hard to get through to a child with certain disorders though. I know a few kids with severe adhd and it is very hard for them to even remember things. if you don't mind me asking what is Odd?

@hailholla1412, we did have a long big talk with him I just hope it sticks, ODD is Oppositional Defiant Disorder

I looked it up. I have complete sympathy for you in this situation. it has got to be hard when you just want the best for him. hopefully this incident will blow over and if it happens again your neighbor will come to you. it's not like he can really help it and the cops shouldn't be involved in the little guys life at this age.

@hailholla1412, I have always tried to do the best I can for him, even when we get that constant arguing and attitude, him and his baby brother are my life, my whole reason for living. The cop even made it a point to say if he was 10 ( which he will be in July) that he could go to juvenile jail for something like this
