I only went to one as I couldn't walk at the end of my pregnancy but I'd recommend them.. The ladies at mine were so friendly.. I would say to go to them sooner than later I couldn't as slots had closed til after Xmas and I gave birth beginning of Feb last year so didn't have a chance.. Xx
@jem29, I said exactly that to her, I also said I'd like someone who's actually birthed a baby when I'm in labour. My mum had C-sections with us so she took offence to wanting to know/ hear about natural birthing. I was looking to attend, I just wanted to know the outcome of attending from anyone previously and I'm glad I asked now 😊. I'm wth you on that one, definitely a lot to gain/ get to know xx
@jem29, @jellybean77 thank you! I'm gonna get something arranged this week. My mum said they're a waste of time but my friends are adamant I should go.(my mum never attended any and my friends have never been pregnant). So I was a bit on the fence as to what I should do and if they would be of use at the actual birth xx
@nico7, I was terrified but the classes really relaxed me. I ended up being induced via the drip which makes the pain much more intense as it causes your contractions quicker than your body has time to get used to them. managed to make it most of the way through just using breathing techniques then gas and air for the last couple of hours. if it wasn't for the classes I think I would have panicked more and would probably have asked for an epidural - they really helped me stay calm x
@jellybean77, I'm a bit worried/ scared of the birth. Hearing your experience definitely makes me want to attend. I need to know what will happen I think to ease my worries x
I went to the ones at my hospital and they were very helpful especially discussing all the induction and pain relief options. I had hoped for a normal birth but ended up being induced at 37+4 and it was a lot less scary as I knew what was going on x
