Almost immediately! Trust me, those contractions will be kicking your tail so hard, you won't even notice them doing it lol. I was able to relax and get some rest before pushing. No regrets

they will numb you first before putting the epidural

No not at all, for me at least. Especially if you wait until you've been in labor for a while

Nope, well I might depend on your pain tolerance, but it really just feels like a little pinch/ something cold. & the needle is tiny and small. The cord is way smaller and thinner then the IV. Contractions and being in labor for a while is way more painful then the epidural.

I was in alot of pain from contractions so it didn't hurt, however it felt weird having the needle go in my spine.
