Her growth will show down even if she is chunky now. They grow a lot in those first six months then thin out a bit as they get more mobile.

You're supposed to keep them rear facing as long as possible, but if they are bigger than the maximum weight limit for their current car seat then it is time to upgrade the car seat to a heavier weight limit, but still try to rear face for as long as possible!
