Hi ladies. Just wandered if any of you are in a council flat and trying to home swap into a house…

I haven't done a swap but know people who have, have you checked on Facebook for any swapping groups for the area you want? Sometimes some people don't think about the homeswapper website xx

I'm on both. ones I do comment on say "no flats" and others are too far from where I wanna be cause of where my son is at school. It's driving me crazy and with another one on the way it's stressing me out. Thanks though @emmajo 😊 xx

Yeah I've had a look so much it gives me a headache lol. I have found one but you have to pay for it, might just have to do that so there are no time wasters i suppose. Just wish I would of waited for a house when I had my little boy 😔 xx

Awe bless you! Try not to get yourself too stressed out over it, I was in an awful place before I got a council place and didn't get this place til my son was 10w old.. I was fretting etc but something will pop up I'm sure.. Plus a home is what you make it even if it isn't "perfect" you can make it perfect xx

I'm in a housing association flat and have been trying to get out and into a house since 2007 and have had no luck at all so far but I wish you luck, I'm hoping when baby number 3 gets here maybe things will change and a miracle will happen but I won't hold my breath, according to my housing officer I definitely won't be considered for moving by them until the baby is at least a year old 🙈 x

@mummyx316, wow that's crazy it shouldn't be like that at all. I get there is shortage of places but the ones they do have they give to people that aren't in urgent need like others. I don't class myself as urgent by no means at all so I know I'm going to be waiting a while. I really hope you get somewhere when your little one comes along ☺ xx

yh she did say she has many homes that are over-occupied so I can imagine it's not easy but know it will be a bit of a squeeze in here with me, the mr, our two girls and a new baby 🙈...I wouldn't mind our 2 bed so much if the rooms were bigger and we all had less stuff loool but I guess it will have to do til something better comes along, I'm even willing to leave London for the right areas as I'd rather let my children grow up somewhere better, hopefully the perfect home is around the corner. My fingers are crossed for you too though hun, I know how disheartening it can be after a while of waiting and hoping xx

That does like it's going to be a squeeze but I suppose they say all good things come to those who wait. I'm in Oxford so one of the worse places to get somewhere as there should such a shortage. Think I might go to local council and get some advice seen as that won't hurt to know what they have to say. xx
