What does it feel like after giving birth? Do you still have your bump? & are you in pain when you pee? 😕 just curious about after birth life.

Well, I have had four vaginal deliveries and this one was a csection. I can honestly say vaginal deliveries are a breeze compared to the csection. I was always up walking around within thr hour after a vaginal birth. I do still have a small bump this time, but its much smaller than in times past when I had given birth vaginally because I had a belly binding wrapped around my stomach to help with the incision pain (and it really does help a LOT). Also, breastfeeding shrinks down your uterus a lot so its helping get my belly back to normal. I am in severe pain when I pee - I never thought that would be an issue with a csection. But it aches and throbs - not sure if its because of the catheter they put in during surgery or if everything is just swollen. I used the morphine drip they gave me for half the day after having him but I HATED how it made me feel so sick, although it did relieve the pain. I stopped that and switched to Toradol, which is like IV Motrin. Then I switched to Oxycodone and Motrin. Now Im just on Motrin and Im doing fairly well on it as long as I have my belly wrapped. I love answering questions and helping out so feel free to ask away ☺

Do they put you to sleep for a c section?

@39surp, they can, and it would be under general anesthesia - but usually not. If you go under general, there are only 3 minutes to get the baby out. I was given a spinal and was awake.
