is it bad I don't want my one month daughter around when her dad comes home completely hammered for his bday???
he's making a huge deal over the fact I don't want us to be here at home when he comes home drunk.
yes its his birthday, but we have a newborn...
I don't want to be left alone till 3 or 4 AM then have him come home and be all over me.. the last time he was drunk we got into a huge fight, he swears on his life he didn't do this, but I was pregnant and he charged at me upstairs and shoved me down on the front porch, I slapped him, then he made himself victim, saying if I ever did that again he's taking my daughter away from me....
so I keep telling him that he's going to wake up alone and hungover on his 26th birthday because me as a momma Bear, and me not wanting to be left alone, isn't going to be here for that... & all he says is "its my bday, I don't care I'll do what I want"
am I just hormonal and being silly or am I being smart???

You're being smart. if he gets like that when he's drunk he shouldn't drink at all.

he only has once, and it was that time.. he's just obnoxious and really touchy when he's drunk.. but we fought because it was late, I wanted to go to bed and he didn't, so he was being an asshole yelling at me outside at 3 am... @arijane316 he told me that all he's gonna do is come home and go to bed... yeah that's NEVER happened in the 2 years we've been together... he doesn't know when to stop touching me and I don't like it... he thinks I'm saying he's a threat to our daughter.. I told him that even I wouldn't want to come home drunk to my newborn If he was sober and home... not happing... he jumped down my throat when I said "what if I say watch her while I go pee real fast, you pick her up and accidentally drop her?" he's like "oh why would you leave me with her in the first place? and why jump to the worst scenario?"

That's not jumping to the worst scenario, that's being realistic and cautious. I think you should maybe stay at your parents house that night. if he gets mad that you're not gonna be home, oh well, you're playing it safe. I'd rather be safe than take a chance on something happening to me or my newborn

Mine is recently sober. I told him he's held a drink in his hand more than he's held our daughter and that got the picture across to him. I feel you, girl. You're not being silly. In the news here in MN a dad was passed out drunk and rolled onto his sleeping baby and suffocated him to death. I won't put up with drinking. Especially around my kids.

you're a mama bear , he needs to know that you aren't going to wait up for him at 4 am waking up a baby . so better be safe then sorry if you got In a fight before and he did that

I freaked out on him because he drank a tall glass of vodka and sprite one night when she was about 2 weeks old, and he had to drive, I don't have my license(been in a few car accidents and I'm scared to drive) and I looked at him and was like "ARE YOU SERIOUSLY DRINKING?!" I don't care if its ONE beer. you ARE NOT drinking and driving with my baby in the car.. plus if we get pulled over, he's screwed. I'm not taking my chances losing my baby over his stupidity... and he always says "I know my limits I'll be fine" yes, you may be okay to drive but if the cops pull you and you have any alcohol with a baby in the car we are SCREWED... @arijane316 @babymaciesmomma @alainalovesmommy

its not worth losing your baby over , my ex use to say he was such a great driver when he was drunk . if he did that when I had my daughter I would of left him quick

yeah, he's done it a couple times... if he does it again I'm going to freak out.. I'm not risking it... he just doesn't seem to care... @alainalovesmommy

Oh hell no. definitely stay somewhere else that night. let him be mad. use @babymaciesmomma 's approach and say what she said.

it also just sucks he sees no issue with him being drunk around the baby...

yes I'm going to... I hate to do it but I'm going to. he will wake up alone on his 26th birthday... without me or his daughter. & he doesn't seem to even care, he even said he doesn't care because all he wants to do is eat dinner with his dad and go get smashed with his friends... he even shitted on the plans I had for his birthday and said no because it wasn't what he wanted to do, then he turns around and is completely okay with getting shit faced drunk.
its sad when your girlfriend turns 21 2 days after you and would rather drink ONE beer, and snuggle with her baby, but for your 26th birthday, you want to go get smashed, come home hammered, and be mad at me for not wanting part in that... @arijane316

seems like he has a problem then. he needs to care more about his family than getting drunk. I wouldn't put up with it

I think its because he's never really like this. he drinks once in a while, but never goes out and drinks because I don't have friends and he feels bad for leaving me alone... but at the same time, you're right. were a family now and there is better things to do on your birthday than get trashed... you have many birthdays, but very limited time to experience your first born grow. id rather spend every waking moment with her, than go out and get smashed. but that's just me.. occasionally go to a bar and have ONE beer. cool. but wanting to go out and get fuckex and expect me to be cool with you coming home to your one month old? not cool.... @arijane316

There's no reason the three of you can't go have a family day/night for his birthday. I get its his borthday, but by not including you for that, since you're family now, he's being selfish. I could understand him wanting to do something with his buddies if you hadn't been through something like this before, but considering you have, he's being a dick
