I just saw another post that made me want to ask this. But I have had my Nexplanon birth control implant in my arm since April 2015. I have been having really bad acne and wondering if my Nexplanon is causing it. I also stopped having my period about 2-3 months after I got it. Has anyone else had these or other side effects?

@rachelt1993, ive had it since august 2015 and my acne is horrible!!!!! I was lucky to not have any acne before aside from an occasional pimple but since ive gotten this birth control, its horrible. And i have horrible irregular bleeding. Bad mood swings. But that could be from being with my kids all day every day never getting out of the house and my 2 yr old driving me up a wall. Lok
I already had anxiety before but all kinds of birth control mess with hormones, and it made it so much worse. I would definitely recommend looking into other types, personally. I always advise against any kind of birth control that is inserted in the body internally like the nexplanon or an IUD because their symptoms seem to be a lot worse and there are lots of physical complications and risks as well.
Wow yeah, I have had bad acne and bad anxiety too, but I wasn't sure if it was the Nexplanon or what. It all started soon after I got it though. @katarama
I also gained 20lbs on it and immediately lost it all in less than a month after getting it taken out.
It caused me to have a period for almost a year straight, gave me horrible acne, made my depression and anxiety worse, and gave me awful mood swings.
Sounds exactly like me! @liz5511 except for the bleeding. My period has stopped completely, so far.
