Can u fight that? I would if possible. speaking from experience with a hyphenated name, it's such a pain! My parents couldn't agree on which last name I had so the judge hyphenated it and it made my life a living hell. People would get my name mixed up, lose files in school, wouldn't accept my homework unless I wrote it all out, my ss card got screwed up when I had my first kid because of it and it took MONTHS to get a new one, etc. I finally got top the point that I picked one to go by for school and that was it to avoid all the trouble. I gave my parents hell about it when everything happened with my ss card, they almost didn't give me my daughter's birth certificate because everything was so screwed up. I was so mad at them for it.

That's how my baby will be, my boyfriend has a hyphenated last name. He wants to get rid of the first part though so the baby and I won't end up with such a long last name since I also have two middle names 😊

I'm not sure I never did it legally, I just started putting one last name down for everything and nobody told me otherwise. I don't think it would make it harder since its still legally two last names, ur just choosing to go by one.

@leiibaaaby, if he gets it legally changed yeah but it costs. He uses only the second part of his last name unless its a legal document or anything like that just because it's his legal last name.

It could complicate things at school and the insurance. Once she is old enough to start school. I would choose one name and leave it at that. And when she is older if she wants to change it then so be it. But yea that's crazy.....

you can give you baby any name you want, technically you could give a baby a last name that isn't even the mother's or the father's. there's no laws stating how to name your baby.. so if you want to stick with the last name he originally had you can.. it won't be hard to say he's the father since the baby with have one of his last names.. and if someone doesn't think the baby is his DNA tests are awesome as he or anyone else can't deny them or question them . lol @leiibaaaby

I have two middle names and two last names but I only use one of my last name I literally dropped my dads but it's annoying at school your name is always cut off it's not necessarily a problem it's just gonna frustrate the hell out of her well I know it did to me that's why I dropped it don't talk to my real dad anyways

Yea mines is hyphenated I just only use both for dmv and school up until college I didn't have to use it there or work as long as one of the names I was using was on my id I was ok
