for the first three months of my daughters life she slept, a lot. my doctor said it was really normal, as long as they're eating and gaining weight just fine, the excessive sleeping is normal.

All babies are different my daughter wakes up once a night but she is awake more during the day for long stretches of time but she might be going through a grow spurt they usually sleep more when it happens

@their.bomb.ass.mom, thank you so much!! Ok I'm relieved she eats and is gaining weight. I do interact with her as much as possible while she is awake but before I know it nap time starts.

no problem! I remember being soooo bored when she slept, but now nap time is very few and far in between. 😩😂😂😂

On average babies sleep 16 hrs a day and if your interacting a lot, that means she learning a lot and that tires them out easily. As long as they gain weight your doing just fine:)

@nadiahuynh, very normal all newborns sleep a lot!! Once they get a little older u will be begging for them to sleep like right now my daughter won't sleep that much I have to sleep with her

I feel dumb asking this, but how do you interact with your baby? I try talking to my boy but I never know what to say or do. I bring out a baby toy but he doesn't seem interested at barely 2 1/2 weeks old. just trying to figure out how to entertain him more.

@dropdeadmeg, whenever she's awake I talk, sing, and ply with her. I explain ever were doing like feeding, changing diapers, bathing, etc. she's not in to toys yet either so I just try and play with her. Hope that helps
