Y'all do know that "not being on the birth certificate" means nothing, right? If a man wants to be in the child's life, all he has to do is swear out an affidavit of paternity, get a court-ordered DNA test, and have the birth certificate amended. Please stop listening to the grapevine and do stuff LEGALLY if you want sole custody. I'm currently waiting for an expedited termination of Camiyha's parents' rights as we speak. They're NOT on her birth certificate--mom never signed and dad didn't know he had to. They don't want to, but I'm not gonna risk investing my time and care in this child for them to snatch her away when it's convenient. They would still have all rights due natural parents if my husband and I didn't do our homework.
