Yeah I literally just grab it out ofmy kid's mouth and threw it in the trash. And I've also threw one out the window before and when I was trying to break them from the bottle i just scoop them all up and put them in the trash can and gave him a sippy cup
The thing is if you just throw one away and you still have more laying around when your baby cries or something you're going to be more likely to give him one to make them be quiet ,so that's why when I'm like ready to take away the pacifier or the bottle I'll just grab them all at once and throw them all in the trash or whatever
They might cry for a little bit but when they realize hey I'm not getting that anymore they'll take the sippy cup or they'll find something else to soothe them basically

I took my son's away one day and didn't give it back. he would ask for it, but u can give him like a blanket or a sippy cup instead.
