I never had them and went into labor just fine... They don't have to happen and honestly, be thankful!

I'm 39 weeks w/o braxton hicks either and also worried it won't come on its own

I didnt with either of my boys. Got induced the first time early due to complications, but went into labor all on my own with my second. Still am bh free this time and I'm 26 weeks today! I don't think you have anything to worry about :)
