Your close family and friends would definitely be there but most people have traditions and plans already set. And most likely wont change them to go to a shower. Such as a friend your not the close to would most likely go with family than your shower you get me ?
As long as you give them enough notice I'd say go for it. We held our sisters gender reveal on the 4th and it was amazing with a 90% turn out. We closed the evening with fireworks.
I was gon to go for that also. I wasn't going to treat it like a shower but a cookout cuz I kno it would be nice plus end it with some fireworks. @mamanugget
That sounds great, but don't make it too much of a cook out since you still deserve to have that shower experience. Although, it would be so much easier for you to plan. Lol. I'm conflicted, don't mind me. As long as everyone has fun I'm sure it'll be an amazing shower/cookout.
Maybe just the following weekend you don't want to be too close to your due date and be very uncomfortable maybe talk to some people your honking of inviting and see if the 4th would work for them it's tough because some people do have plans or traditions but if you tell them ahead of time it should be ok right now you have plenty of time to get feedback if a majority says they'd be able to make it go for it ! If not I think the following weekend is fine as well ! Good luck :)

My daughters 2nd birthday party was held on Memorial Day last year. More people came because it was like a cookout/birthday party

Our family is large, too. Imho its the best route to take. You can look on pinterest for some shower/4th ideas. They have so many to choose from.
