Two years ago, almost to the hour, I was arrested in wilderness of Colorado. I had been living in an RV with my abusive boyfriend of 4 years preparing to go work and live on a pot farm. We got drunk, got into a fight, he hit me with a table leg and the cops got called because I had finally had enough. I had no idea he had other drugs in my RV that happened to be in a bag with an expired ID of mine, so I got the charges.

Honestly, the best thing that could have happened to me. I was about to truly be unreachable with a bunch of strangers, mostly men, and that ass. I believe I was saved that day. Now I am completely free of that man. I'm pregnant by a different person altogether, who is young and in the Navy and not 'with' me, but infinitely better than Pete. I'm safe and happy and back in my hometown finally spending time with my family after years of distance.

And I successfully completed my probation a few weeks ago! Now just eagerly awaiting this little guy to come out into the world so we can move on with our brand new life together.

I was sad, and still get sad, and life has been very hard but I'm so thankful I escaped when I did.
