@emilyg, exactly!! We've been together 5 years in May and he has bought me something for my birthday twice and something for Valentine's day twice. And an engagement ring for our 1 year together. Thats it. Hes bought me gifts and stuff throughout the years but nothing on special days. Ive made it a point to make him atleast cards for every holiday, birthday, anniversary, everything :(

Why should he always get gifts for you? If he forgets or just doesn't want to then don't get upset about it, build a bridge and walk over it. That's just me.

I got upset at mine for blowing it off. we never go big but like you said make a freaking card

@dja, yeah i get that. I mean i know i shouldnt be upset if he doesnt want to get me anything but that doesnt stop it from hurting. Especially when i always do things for him. I know just cuz i do for him doesnt mean he needs to do for me. But its still kinda hurtful

@stoneeyes77, i agree. I know i shouldnt be upset. Its an overrated holiday. Why should society decide that feb 14 we all have to show our love? It was originally a pegan festival that got completely distorted. But it still upsets me cuz we do still celebrate all the overly hyped holidays. Lol
