Yes! I just had my follow up sono and my placenta has moved a safe distance from my cervix! It happens more times than not! As your uterus stretches it allows for more room between the cervix and placenta!

I had what they call a placenta previa during my first pregnancy, mine was over top of my cervix and never moved... you are correct that a c-section would be required... I also could not have sex for the rest of my pregnancy (my husband was not too thrilled about that).... also any bleeding or contractions I was told to "get my pregnant butt up to the hospital" yes those were the exact words my Dr used lol (he's a great Dr with a good sense of humor)... other than that I still worked, I worked at aldi at the time (my manager took me off working truck not my dr) and I did everything my job required.... any other questions please feel free to ask ☺

Ya, my midwife said to watch for any bleeding and no sex until my 28 week scan lol what are the risks? Doesn't seem like it's that huge of a deal, just requires a csection... did you have to do bed rest or any of that? if you try and deliver vaginally it can cause you to bleed out (worst case scenario) you could have to have a hysterectomy (not quite as bad but still bad).... as my Dr put it "you don't want to have the baby come bursting thru the placenta, that's when things get messy"

no bed rest at all thankfully, of course I did start bleeding at 32 weeks 4 day.... went to hospital for observation and ended up delivering my son.... that was due to fetal distress not because of the previa... had I not delivered that nite I would have been on bed rest

I had placenta previa at my 20 week scan. It "moved" to low lying at 29 weeks and at 34 weeks had moved to 3cm away from the cervical opening! It was stressful, but we are now good to go with a vaginal delivery. In most cases it is pushed out of the way by your growing uterus. Try not to worry.
