Being in such a large, involved hospital, you hear a lot of 'codes' called over the intercom. Also, the half of the hospital Im in is known as Golisano Children's Hospital. Knowing there are tons of sick little kids here is enough to break your heart. There's a whole oncology floor dedicated to childhood cancer. Every time I hear med teams called to the pediatric oncology ward, I can't help but pray for that child and be moved to tears, wondering whats going on. And I cry for them a lot. I can never understand why children have to get so sick. Its just not fair. And it really makes you count your blessings and thank God for what you have and the health of your own children.
