I charge $3/hour or $130/full week per child.

Where I'm from is about 140 a week or 550 a month

I live in MN, the going rate for nannies starts at $10/hr. That's for nannies with no experience. For 40 hrs per week it would total $6.25/hr that I'm charging. What do you think.

uh... i wouldnt expect them even family paying 1000 a month thats way too much. thats rent here and here going rates for nannies should never be high unless you have training and experience. training i mean like cpr.. etc. and you need those if you really wanna be a nanny. you honestly cant ask anyone to pay 1000 a month:/ its not realistic, not anywhere. and here certified nannies go for a rate of 10 or so. but just deciding to stay home and watch kids you cant ask for that much..

i understand going by what the state says is normal but its also family and i dont see that happening. just tell anyone else that u watch or even them just say the hourly wage when u divide that up. saying 1000 a month scares anyone

I don't want to overcharge anyone, especially family. Honestly though, I pay close to $1000/month for a small care center for my 4 yr old and he only goes half days for 5 days a week. I'd be giving her newborn one on one attention all day plus I have an associates degree in human services. She is a lawyer and can afford $1000/ month. I need a livable wage, too. For 40+ hours a week I don't see how $1000/month is asking too much. But I guess I'll have to settle for getting paid less than I'm worth.

Are you watching them from your home? Because in home daycare is different than being a nanny. If you bring in a second kiddo to watch it would help up what you're making as well. I watch three kiddos and then my own. So it's like making about $1500 a month.
