Have any of you mommies had any toothaches or abcessed teeth while pregnant? I'm 27 weeks today and the doctors gave me some pain meds and told me to take tylenol. I'm afraid somethings gonna hurt my baby boy. Is it normal to be so paranoid?
iv been dealing with the same thing to a bad toothache i was also worried about the baby try to to get some Orajel it nums ur gums making the pain go away i also was prescribed Tylenol but i talked to a pharmacist he recommended only to take it if i really had really bad pain or he said to iust take over the counter Tylenol just 1 tho its always best to try to avoid taking to much meds while pregnant i think just to be safe😉
thanks @mommybump2016 you made me feel so much better!! I have no clue why I'm so nervous!
that's what my sister said. I'm just always so worried I'm gonna hurt my baby. this is my first and I don't know what I'd do if something happened. I've had no problems my whole pregnancy though. I've had a completely healthy pregnancy
I believe it could cause that. just my opinion. because your in so much pain your stressed and he feels that. you can take Tylenol every 4-6 hrs that's fine . I lived on Tylenol for a couple weeks due to a tooth ache :(. but every time I'm mad or stressed my little one doesn't move that much but when I'm happy and relaxed she moves alot
just keep the pain monitored because if you allow that infection to keep spreading it will go through your gums to your bones and can lead to a whole body infection,my little sister was in the hospital for an access tooth and they had to do so urgent and then remove the tooth because she got a whole body infection and she wouldn't stop crying ,just make sure you take care of yourself
and I'm having the tooth pulled this afternoon so I won't have to deal with it anymore. it's extremely abcessed and has to come out. I had a tongue ring a few years ago and it DESTROYED my teeth. this tooth is link broken and rotted. There's a big hole underneath the filling where my nerves are exposed from that stupid tongue ring. and things are a lot more sensitive now that I'm pregnant. they mainly wanna pull it so the infection doesn't spread to the baby
okay. the pain meds is what worries me. and I'm always afraid I'm taking too much tylenol. I only take it 4 hours after I've taken it before. the closest I've ever taken it was 3 ish hours. but since I've had this tooth problem I've noticed he doesn't move as much. it takes a lot to get him to move. would me being in all this pain make him tired and whatnot? @mommybump2016
definitely take the antibiotics that will help with the pain within a couple days it kills the infection . now oxycodone I'm not going to lie I took one with my 2nd baby I was just in too much pain and he is fine. but I only took one. if the pain gets really bad I would suggest you take it. its better to be out of pain for the baby so your not stressed in pain. but try Tylenol first and if that don't work take the other but after like 4-6 hrs after taking the Tylenol. also you can buy some numbing liquid stuff at the store that works amazingly!!! lol. and take a shower but let the warm/hot water hit the spot on your cheek where your tooth is hurting and it helps too! lol i always get toothaches during pregnancy and it's only when I'm pregnant it sucks!
they gave me amoxicillin, oxycodone, and some oral rinse numbing stuff. he did okay it with my ob though before he gave me anything.
yes he did. they also gave me oxycodone. they only gave me a couple though and my ob says it's safe for pregnancy. I'm still extremely nervous though @mommybump2016
that's what I thought. but my doctor also said she wants my pain under control so it doesn't overly stress Ristyn
