can anybody please tell me how child support court is or what to expect? I'm going or wanting to file my two oldest kids dad but I'm scared just because I'm unemployed they will do something I'm in school full time will be done in 5 months,I also would want back payments as well does child's support handle visitation schedules and all that? I heard they dont deal with that?

file it now. for me the only back support I got went back to the date I filed. so I don't get anything from when my daughter was born, even though they told me I couldn't file til I had her birth certificate and I would get back pay of her birth. the magistrate said nope she can only go back to the date I filed. I'm dealing with all this now but I know state to state is different.

@babygluttony, that's not cool my son's are is 7 and 4 my dad has been doing his half and it wouldn't be fair for him to not have to pay up but I guess some child support is better then none ,my sister live in Texas and they do back pay from the time the baby is born

I was told that's what they do too but idk I didn't want to fight and I just wanted it to be over with so I can rightfully get help I need

I didn't file for back child support but went to get it done with my first born who's 7 (child support&custody) We ended up settling everything without seeing a judge. We handled custody as well. He sees him every other weekend then we split holidays every year and summer vacation and who claims him on taxes etc. I wanted it over asap and not to wait longer seeing a judge. I also had to do a parenting class and can always change what we agreed upon if I disagree with something. I'm a sahm so I don't work . My fiance does. I live in Arizona too so I'm not sure how it works where you live

I'm in alabama and had my first court date yesterday, and her we only get back support for 2 years before the day child support is awarded. my daughter will be 4 by the time we finally have the court date that states how much he pays (she is 3 right now but it's a long process) so he will only have to pay for 2 year before that day.
