Crockpot dinners are a mothers best friend ! Dinner will be ready by the time I'm off work threw my chili bean recipe in this morning and it's been cooking all day while I cleaned and got ready for work and played with my daughter :) now when I get home I actually get to spend time with her instead of having to cook and clean :)
do you... Clean up after your SO is done cooking? Or vice versa? DF was cooking and while he was cooking I unloaded the dish washer and hand washed the pot he had used and put dishes in the dish washer, so by the time he got his plate, dishes were done and left overs were in Tupperware on the counter just in case anyone wanted seconds and counters were wiped down. The room mate asked me why I do that, and I just say that's how I was raised. I always clean up after anyone cooks in the house, even after myself. I clean as I cook, so DF doesn't clean up because it's done before dinner is finished lol. But there's rare occasions where he'd be in the kitchen while I cook so he does help out with the cleaning since i cook during the day sometimes so we can heat it up when it's dinner time. I want everyone to get their first and seconds before I eat. My mom has taught me to always clean up after your spouse makes dinner, it's only fair. They put their effort into cooking, you should always help them out.
Did my clean eating meal prep today. It took 4hours 45mins to prep. Cook. Store. And clean. I made 14 breakfast meals. 7 lunch meals(for hubby's work) and 14 dinner meals. A long with 2 gallons of quinoa salsa for my parents and followed by not so healthy but my favorite sugar cookies. And let's face it. After all that. I deserve the sugar cookies! 👌🏻pictures will be in the comments that way I don't completely consume everyone's news feed! 😘
Gender Roles!!? How do you ladies feel about gender roles in a marriage/relationship? I was talking to some women at my job and one is in her late 40s (i'll be 23 in nov). She feels as if a man should never have to cook or clean. She says a woman should never have to put gas in the car or take out the trash. I totally disagree lol! Maybe in the older days when women stayed home all day and the man worked all day.. Then I wouldn't mind, but being that both my husband and I work 40+ hours a week each I feel as though we should split responsibilities. Now I cook dinner for my husband and I do the laundry, get his clothes for work etc.. But I also take the trash out if it's full and I'm on my way out the door. I have no problem with going to the gas station and filling up my tank. If I'm working late and my husband is home, he will cook dinner and have it ready for me when I get home. I never ask him to do so, he just does it. Just like he never have to ask me to cook we just do what works! My husband also cleans the house when he feels in the mood. I definitely clean more than him but maybe twice a month he'll spend all Sunday cleaning (he's off on Sundays and Im not) and when I get home he has dinner ready and our son bathed and ready for bed. Some say that's a "woman's job" but I don't think so. What do you ladies think?
8 healthy crock pot meals (7 to freeze and one for dinner tonight) prepared and cleaned up in less than two hours (would have taken less but I have a newborn so I was limited to one hand at times). I feel accomplished and am soooo looking forward to not cooking every night!
