If u want a certified copy of the new birth certificate you have to pay $23, or it will just be in the "system".. I had them send me a copy, so I have 2 birth certificates for my daughter.

Maybe it varies state to state, but in Cali I had to amend the birth certificate. Fill out some forms, (and a certified copy form) have it notarized, and send it out correcting the errors and the reason why. They also told me that you can't change the original birth certificate, that you will have another one but with the correct information.
