Whats you ladies opinions on home birth? when I finally do get pregnant and God willing everything is normal I think that is what I want to do. I also am thinking about a water birth. I'm still researching....
that's what I'm considering as well @cookiemonster1216 doing it at a birthing center but I really would love to do it at home if possible! my friend had a regular Dr and an epidural the first time and a midwife no epidural the second time she said she would never get an epidural again! thanks for the reference: ))))
I would absolutely love love a water birth!! I was too nervous to do it the first time, nor in the financial situation to be able to pay completely out of pocket for a midwife (the ones here don't accept insurance.) I think I'd prefer one at their clinic, or whatever you call it, but that's so I'd be closer to the hospital, just in case. Hoping by the next time I'm pregnant we will be able to afford a midwife! Especially now that I've done a natural birth already, and I know I can do it without an epidural. The Business of Being Born is a great documentary to watch if you're considering it! It's even on Netflix!! My older sister had both of hers with a midwife too :)
Do what you feel is best for you and your family. You'll know what's best when it's time to make that descion :)
aw :( I'm sorry to hear that. @mrsdoyle the main reason I want a home birth is because it's more personal and I'm in complete control, I want everything to be as natural as possible.
It's actually kind of funny, my mom had epidurals with 5/8 kids, and three csections. But my older sister and I have had ours naturally. I would like mine at home, but I live out in the country, so it'd be about 25min to the closest hospital in the case of emergency. I had a regular doctor and hospital birth for my dd, but no epidural. I have heard so many horror stories about the epidural!! The idea of it just scares me lol
