in my family sociology class, we talk about a lot. so that being said, kids don't care about money. they don't care about if they have Jordan's on. they don't care about all the material things parents use to show off. they won't remember that as an adult. what they will remember is how you were never there, how they couldn't come talk to you, how you never had time for them. the "not now son's" and the "maybe later's. how Billy's mom always helped him with his homework and Damian had to figure it out on his own. and they take that and that's how they raise their children. yes, financial responsibility is required of the parents but so is emotional support. so many of us get caught up in the finances and forget that our kids need us emotionally too.
