Hospital tour went well today - feels weird since it's going to be 8 years since I last gave birth. Interesting security measure is on your newborn, they use a little GPS ankle bracelet in addition to the standard wrist ID label; if someone tries to remove it (ankle monitor), the entire wing goes on lock down! They also allows the baby to "room in" with you, so essentially your newborn doesn't have to be removed from the room - even for vaccines or hearing screening. Informational tour.

My hospital has that too! My nurses even said that they can pull up his "GPS information" and show me where he has gone throughout the hospital! Crazy, the technology they have!

I was shocked by that update - kept thinking, "this isn't 2008 anymore" lol. It feels a bit invasive however I prefer the reassurance since there are crazies out there these days.

Interesting @8yearsapart ! It's been 14 years for me so I don't remember any of that. I'm going on my hospital tour in 2 weeks but the hospital told me they encourage baby rooming in with mom and I remember my teenage son staying in my room because I requested that.

I was surprised at the offer because the hospital my first daughter was born at did not do it. They had to take her away multiple times to run tests and it bugged me. @excitedmom36
