At what week does the Dr start doing pelvic exams to check dilation in a non-high risk pregnancy?

Okeedoke. I was just curious because I had seen where women were saying how far along they were dilated at 31 weeks, etc. With my first son, the checks were more frequent, but I was younger and high risk since I didn't receive medical care until 7 months (I was a scared 17 yr old 😰). I heard they dont do them as often though because of risking preterm labor or infections.

@babyreeves, my doctor started at 34 weeks. maybe cause I was complaining about pelvic pressure.

I guess I could see that. I think I'm safe to say I don't think I have any need for a check for another couple weeks, lol. Thanks sweetie! @bekka1071

@babyreeves, your welcome. :) some doctors dont really want to check until your further along, cause they dont want to interrupt something that your body is doing.

@babyreeves, yeah that's why my dr waits until 37 weeks but now I'm going weekly for checks until she's here
