Any other mommies or mommies to be- what are your thoughts/feelings about amnioscentesis.? How safe is it for you, and ESPECIALLY the baby. And did you go ahead and have it done.? Pretty much looking to hear from anyone who decided to do this test, or if you decided not to, reasons why. I would relly like some advice and different view points on the subject.

I had mine done but they drew my blood since they can separate my blood from the baby's then they looked at him via ultrasound and that's how I got my results

I had a sono and blood drawn for my genetic screening test. A few measurements and blood work usually determine if an amniocentesis is necessary. I wouldn't recommend it. I also found out the sex of my baby through the bloodwork.
